Miras is a barber in Dubai who has long served men dealing with hair loss. He previously took an online course from a permanent-makeup artist that gave him excess irrelevant theory, incorrect colour theory and pigments unsuitable for the scalp - his attempts at SMP left dots that either blurred or faded. In our course he studied SMP theory from scratch and practised dot technique and depth on melons before moving to real clients. Today Miras works confidently in Dubai, with an average ticket of $500–800 per procedure.

Alyona is a hair transplant surgeon with years of experience. The permanent makeup market in her city was oversaturated, and she was looking for a new service to stand out and reach male clients. Aizhan came to train from Bishkek, having previously done body scar and stretch-mark camouflage with permanent-makeup techniques, with unpredictable results that required many sessions.
